The Hilarity of Deafness

My aunt (who isn't really my aunt but an extremely kind and loving friend of my family) told my wife and I a joke that actually happened.

Apparently, my mother's cousin's mother was hard of hearing, as were my mother's cousin's mother's two sisters. They were in a bus one day in Jersey when one said, "It's windy."

Her sister responded by saying, "It's not Wednesday, it's Thursday."

The third sister replied, "I'm thirsty too. Let's get off the bus."

This reminds me of a semi-legendary story involving my grandfather's wife (I don't actually remember this happening anymore, so I'm not sure if it's true, or if telling it over and over has made it true).

We were at my grandfather's house, downstairs (where we used to sleep), and my father sneezed. My grandfather's wife then came to the door at the top of the stairs and yelled down, "He's gone out for a walk."
